Property Litigation

Increasingly, people live together and pool resources to purchase a property. Sometimes they purchase the house jointly and other times one person's name may be on the deeds whilst the other person contributes to the upkeep and maintenance of the property in other ways.

Such arrangements are fine whilst there is a desire for that arrangement to be maintained, but when one party wishes to move on or the relationship breaks down, disputes may arise as to what happens next. One party may not wish to sell the property, one party may claim an interest that the other maintains they are not entitled to, and perhaps the largest asset that a person owns becomes the subject of a dispute.

Our solicitors are able to advise upon whether or not a person has an interest in the property and how this can be quantified with a view to resolving such disputes promptly.
