Industrial or Occupational Disease Claims

Exposure at work to things such as noise, dust, chemicals and fumes can often lead to the development of illness. For a long time, these risks have been acknowledged and regulations put in place to limit exposure and reduce the risk of employees developing illness.

Conditions such as occupational asthma, dermatitis, deafness and vibration white finger are quite common and yet many employers expose their staff to the risks of developing these problems by not complying with the laws to keep workplaces safe.

Often these illnesses can develop very quickly but many take several years to be noticed, depending on the type and length of exposure. No matter what the illness however, your first step should always be to seek proper medical attention. If a doctor believes you may have a condition due to exposure at work, then you may well have a claim for compensation and should seek legal advice.
